Subaru tuning house STI will use Januaryâs 2016 Tokyo Auto Salon to unveil two fresh concepts, based on the new Levorg wagon and the ageing XV crossover.
Opening on January 15, the aftermarket tuning and styling event will play host to Subaru Tecnica Internationalâs view of how the already WRX-related Levorg and its less edgy XV stablemate could look â" and go â" with a more sporting approach.
The Japanese company has yet to offer images of either concept, but limited details of both have been released this week.
In the case of the Levorg STI Concept, fans can expect to see the iconic WR Blue Pearl colour splashed across its body, which will be upgraded with a sporting front-end look (âwith quality feelâ) and 18-inch aluminium wheels. The conceptâs features will be rounded out with STI-tuned dampers.
For the XV, STI has focused on the Hybrid model not offered in Australia, upgrading the green crossover to embody a âcasual and sporty characterâ, kitted out with an undefined array of STI parts for enhanced ride quality and stability.
Both will be joined by the STI Performance Concept (below), the show-car revealed in April as a tantalising â" and potentially eternally fantastical â" view of how a high-powered and heavily tuned version of the BRZ coupe could look.
Stay tuned for CarAdviceâs coverage of the Tokyo Auto Salon, which kicks off on January 15.
Note: regular Levorg and XV Hybrid models pictured. STI concept images still to come.
