2016 Jaguar New Cars

Details of the new and updated Jaguar vehicles launching in Australia in 2016.

Jaguar-XF

XF â€" February

The all-new, aluminium-rich and technologically advanced Jaguar XF will land on Australian shores in early February.

From launch, Jaguar will offer eight variants comprising four trim levels (Prestige, Portfolio, R-Sport and S) and five engines (20d: 132kW 2.0-litre diesel; 25t: 177kW 2.0-litre petrol; 35t: 250kW 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol; S diesel: 221kW 3.0-litre V6 diesel; and S petrol: 280kW 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol).

Prices are up significantly over the outgoing model (ranging from $82,800 to $128,200 plus on-road costs), though so is the level of standard equipment. The base model gains a host of features over its predecessor including 10-way electric front seats, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, and semi-automated park assist, plus plenty more.

With the mid-sized XE now established in the market, Jaguar believes the XF is primed to take on its key large luxury sedan rivals including the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, Lexus GS and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Jaguar-XJ

XJ â€" March

Jaguar’s XJ limousine will benefit from a welcome update in March that will introduce some subtle aesthetic tweaks, a new diesel engine and the brand’s new infotainment system.

Visually the 2016 Jaguar XJ gains full LED headlights, a slightly larger and bolder grille, and revised tail-light graphics.

The new 3.0-litre diesel engine boasts an extra 18kW and 100Nm, taking its outputs to 220kW and 700Nm. Despite the gains, combined cycle fuel consumption is said to dip from 6.0L/100km to 5.6L/100km.

Inside is the new InControl Touch Pro infotainment system that comes with a 60GB solid-state drive, multi-touch touchscreen, satellite navigation, smartphone app connectivity, a quad-core Intel processor, Gracenote album art and music database, Bluetooth connectivity, and a range of customisation options.

Jaguar-F-Pace-2

F-Pace â€" August

Jaguar’s first-ever SUV will launch in Australia in August priced from $74,340 plus on-road costs.

Four engines will be offered locally in the F-Pace: the 132kW 2.0-litre four-cylinder and 221kW 3.0-litre V6 S diesels, and the 250kW and 280kW 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrols.

Five trim levels will be offered: Prestige, Portfolio, R-Sport, S, and the limited-run First Edition, with prices scaling up to $120,700.

Base Jaguar F-Pace variants will come standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, power tailgate, 8.0-inch touchscreen with InControl Touch media system, 10-way electric front seats and autonomous emergency braking, while the range flagship will boast massive 22-inch wheels, panoramic roof, electrically reclining rear seats, a 12.3-inch virtual instrument cluster display, and the InControl Touch Pro media system.

The recently introduced Jaguar XE will benefit from a technology update in the first half of next year that will bring new media and safety systems to the luxury mid-sizer.

The InControl Touch Pro infotainment system will be offered as an option on all variants of the updated XE line-up, bringing a 10.2-inc touchscreen, a quad-core processor and a 60-gigabyte solid-state drive, plus other features.
