Details of the new and updated Haval models launching in Australia in 2016.
H6 â€" Q2
The three-SUV Haval range, which comprises the H2, H8 and H9 at present, will expand in the second quarter of 2016 to include the H6 ‘coupe’.
The slick, Range Rover Evoque-esque H6 mid-sized SUV shows the company (China’s largest SUV maker) remains set on moving ever further upmarket.Â
The launch model will sport a Euro 6 145kW/315Nm 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a six-speed dual-clutch (wet) automatic gearbox. Acceleration from zero to 100km/h is said to take 9.0 seconds.
A 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel alternative could be added at some point, to both this car and the H8, while the H9 could get a V6 diesel. Hybrid variants of all of the above have been mooted, though potently not until the next-generation.
The Haval H6 adopts the “currently fashionable coupe style designâ€. Its length, width and height are 4549mm, 1835mm and 1700mm respectively. Its wheel base is 2720mm.
The H6 will launch into Australia’s toughest SUV class, the mid-sized segment currently dominated by the Mazda CX-5 and Toyota RAV4. Expect pricing to kick off in the high $20Ks or low $30Ks, reflecting the company’s signature semi-premium positioning.Â
