Abarth 695 Biposto Record unveiled

The Abarth 695 Biposto Record limited edition model has been unveiled in the UK.

Each Biposto Record is painted an eye catching shade of yellow dubbed “Modena Yellow”, and fitted with grey trim pieces, enamelled badging, a special startup animation in the instrument panel, a cargo net, unique numbered plates, and an aluminium bonnet.

Mechanically, the Record model seems to be unchanged from the regular edition. This means that under the bonnet there’s a turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine generating 140kW of power at 5500rpm and 250Nm of torque at 3000rpm.

As with other 695 Biposto models, the Record also features 18-inch OZ alloy wheels, Brembo brakes, an Akrapovic exhaust, Sabelt carbon shell seats with four-point seatbelts, and other modifications.

Thanks to its missing rear seats and other modifications, all 695 Biposto models are said to weigh just 997 kilograms. That makes it good for a 0-100km/h time of 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 230km/h.

Fiat UK says that just 133 units will be built worldwide, with that number chosen to honour Abarth’s collection of records.

It’s unknown at this stage whether the Abarth 695 Biposto Record will be sold in Australia. Given that the company’s local arm has elected to import only 14 copies of the regular edition 695 Biposto, it seems unlikely. The Abarth 695 Biposto starts at $65,000 before on-road costs and options.
