Porsche Australia picks up the tab on Cayenne S E-Hybrid energy

Porsche Australia has partnered with Origin Energy to offset the charged electric driving of all Cayenne S E-Hybrid vehicles in Australia.

Forming part of the carmaker’s ‘E-Mobility’ program, the arrangement has seen Porsche purchase 100-percent GreenPower Accredited Renewable Energy to cover 10,000 kilometres of electric driving for all current and new Cayenne S E-Hybrid owners.

Owners of Porsche’s plug-in hybrid vehicles also now benefit from a ChargePoint card (Porsche branded, of course) that will allow access to any ChargePoint station across Australia.

“Porsche is the only luxury brand to offer three distinctive plug-in Hybrid vehicles (Cayenne S E-Hybrid, Panamera S E-Hybrid and 918 Spyder) across three different model lines, so we are proud of our achievements to date and always look to enhance the ownership experience for our customers,” Porsche Australia managing director Sam Curtis said.

The announcement follows news of a similar arrangement for stablemate Audi, which has also partnered with Origin to deliver accredited renewable energy for the new A3 Sportback e-tron.

As with the Cayenne E-Hybrid, buyers of the A3 e-tron will benefit from 10,000 kilometres of GreenPower renewable energy to offset charging drawn from the national power grid.

“Origin will add the accredited renewable energy back to the grid on the Audi A3 Sportback e-tron owner’s behalf, further boosting the vehicle’s green credentials by displacing 2.5 tonnes of greenhouse emissions,” Origin, GreenPower and Audi announced in July.
