The replacement for the Renault Koleos has been spied out and about on public roads in Europe.
As we can see from this prototype, the Koleosâ replacement will feature a version of the brandâs new, bolder face, which includes a T-shaped grille with an oversized Renault diamond in the centre.
As with the Talisman sedan and wagon, this will be flanked by C-shaped headlights.
Under the skin, the Koleosâ successor will use components from the Renault-Nissan Common Module Family and itâs expected that the new SUV will share a lot in common with the Nissan X-Trail.
CarAdvice understands that the new crossover will be larger than todayâs Koleos, which measures just a shade over 4.5 metres in length.
The increased dimensions could allow the new car to be offered in a seven-seat configuration, and will provide the car with a point of difference over the Kadjar, which has a length of 4.45m, but isnât on the radar for Australian sales.
Like the Koleos, its replacement will also likely be built in South Korea by Renault Samsung, making exports to Australia more likely.
Itâs unknown at this stage whether the crossover seen here will continue with the Koleos name that debuted back in 2007. While itâs possible that Renault will come up with a new nameplate, Jerome Stoll, an executive vice president at Renault, told CarAdvice last month that âlaunching new names is very easy on Powerpoint [as opposed to reality]â.
