The next-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan has been filmed almost completely undisguised ahead of its expected launched early next year.
In the video above, filmed by YouTube user walkoArt, we can see a large collection of, seemingly production ready, E-Class sedans sitting around in a parking lot. Some of new E-Class models are as naked as newborn babies, while the majority are wearing full body covers.
While earlier prototypes snapped by our spy photographers wore swirly camouflage tape on much of the body, these cars are completely undisguised except for a little bit of tape over the headlights, tail-lights, and badges.
As weâve been predicting, the new E-Class wholeheartedly adopts the companyâs latest design direction, with many details seemingly lifted directly from the C-Class below and the S-Class above.
The next-generation E-Class reportedly rides on a stretched and widened variant of the MRA platform that underpins the C-Class range. The new car will also be longer and wider than the current vehicle, which debuted back in 2009.
Despite the increase in dimensions, weight will be down thanks to the use of high-strength steel and other lightweight materials. Under the bonnet, the new car will be powered by an assortment of four-, six- and eight-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel engines.
At least some variants will feature a new 48V electrical system, while others will be offered with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain.
Earlier spy photos have provided us with a clear view of the new E-Classâ interior, which we now know will feature a widescreen infotainment display thatâs visually linked to the carâs instrument panel.
The new E-Class is reportedly due to debut in early 2016. In time it will be joined by wagon, coupe and convertible variants.
