Jaguar F-Type SVR convertible spy photos

The new high performance Jaguar F-Type SVR convertible has been spotted by our photographers on the Nurburgring track.

When it’s launched, the F-Type SVR convertible will be the open-air complement to the coupe that our spies spotted last month. Like the coupe, the SVR convertible features a more aggressive aerodynamics kit with a revised front bumper incorporating larger air intakes and prominent front splitters.

At the rear there’s a fixed wing sitting proudly atop the boot lid, as well as a quad-tipped exhaust system. The eye-catching rear diffuser-style lower apron is different to the one fitted to the coupe that was spotted earlier this year.

A large disc brake and calliper combo is hiding behind this prototype’s blacked out alloy wheels.

Rumours indicate the F-Type SVR coupe and convertible will be powered by a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 with between 430 and 450 kilowatts of power.

At present, the most powerful model in the two-door Jaguar range is the F-Type R, which features a 404kW/680Nm version of the company’s 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine.

The F-Type SVR is set to be the second SVR-branded high performance model, after the Range Rover Sport SVR, produced by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), which was created in the middle of 2014.

In addition to creating challengers to the M, AMG and RS ranges, SVO is responsible for whipping up bespoke vehicles and vintage replicas, taking care of Jaguar Land Rover’s heritage collection, and creating limited edition specials, such as the Project 7.
