Overnight, the Italian company unveiled the Fiat Ducato 4Ã4 Expedition, a one-off concept thatâs ready for a spot of off-the-beaten-track camping.
Based on the long-wheelbase, high-roof version of the Ducato campervan, the 4Ã4 Expedition made its debut at the Caravan Salon thatâs currently taking place in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Under the bonnet, the 4Ã4 Expedition features a 2.3-liter Multijet four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine with 112kW of power and 350Nm of torque. This motor is mated to a permanent four-wheel drive system supplied by Dangel and six-speed manual transmission.
Externally, the 4Ã4 Expedition wears a two-tone paint job, and has a winch at the front, a roof rack up top, LED daytime driving lights and wheel arch extensions. The Ducato show car rides on raised suspension, has large off-road ready tyres, and features a widened track.
The interior was extensively revised by Tecnoform, a company that specialises in designing cabins for high-end campervans and yachts. Modifications include lighting thatâs built into the vanâs furniture, two retractable flat screen televisions, table tops that fold out into a bed, a concealed kitchen sink and hot plate, and whole a host of classy embellishments and fittings throughout.
