Citroen Cactus M concept teased

The Citroen Cactus M concept has been teased ahead of its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt motor show next month.

It’s said that the new Cactus M concept channels the spirit of the original Citroen Mehari and combines it with the quirky flair of the soon-to-be-released-in-Australia C4 Cactus.

Given that the earlier teaser image (below) showed a custom made surfboard emblazoned with Cactus M logos reinforces the fact that the new concept will try to appeal to surfers and anyone else who’s interested in casual al fresco motoring.

We can see from the image at the top that the concept will seat at least four people, but aside from that little else is known, at this stage, about the Cactus M. Citroen promises to release more information about the concept on September 2, with the vehicle set to be unveiled in the flesh at the Frankfurt motor show that takes place around the middle of September.

The original Citroen Mehari was built by the French car maker between 1968 and 1988. Based on the 2CV, the Mehari featured a plastic body.

Around 7000 of the roughly 140,000 Meharis made were produced for the French and Irish armies. The original Mehari was sold in Europe, South America and the United States.
