The Gaydon-based company has confirmed that the Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf will now be available for order outside the initial target market of the Middle East.
According to Aston Martin, the Taraf has been âre-engineered to be available in either left or right-hand driveâ and will now be available for order in the EU, United Kingdom and South Africa.
Andy Palmer, Aston Martinâs CEO since late 2014, stated at the carâs launch event that the company was âevaluatingâ the possibility of expanding Taraf availability outside of the Middle East.
Today he said: âOpening up the Lagonda Taraf to an increased number of customers around the world was a high priority for me as soon as I joined Aston Martin late last year. I wanted to be able to offer this exceptional saloon to the potential owners from around the globe who have been enquiring about it, and Iâm very happy that we have been able to expand the Lagonda proposition.â
The Taraf will sold through the companyâs VIP programme. As such, Aston Martin is keeping the carâs price confidential, reasoning that it will be âsignificantly different in each case due to very high levels of bespoke contentâ.
Based on the companyâs VH architecture, the four-seat Lagonda Taraf shares a lot in common with the shorter and less capacious Rapide. The Taraf is powered by a version of the companyâs 5.9-litre V12 engine.
Weâre waiting to hear back from Aston Martin as to whether the Lagonda Taraf will be available for order in Australia.
