Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf to be made available outside Middle East

The Gaydon-based company has confirmed that the Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf will now be available for order outside the initial target market of the Middle East.

According to Aston Martin, the Taraf has been “re-engineered to be available in either left or right-hand drive” and will now be available for order in the EU, United Kingdom and South Africa.

Andy Palmer, Aston Martin’s CEO since late 2014, stated at the car’s launch event that the company was “evaluating” the possibility of expanding Taraf availability outside of the Middle East.

Today he said: “Opening up the Lagonda Taraf to an increased number of customers around the world was a high priority for me as soon as I joined Aston Martin late last year. I wanted to be able to offer this exceptional saloon to the potential owners from around the globe who have been enquiring about it, and I’m very happy that we have been able to expand the Lagonda proposition.”

The Taraf will sold through the company’s VIP programme. As such, Aston Martin is keeping the car’s price confidential, reasoning that it will be “significantly different in each case due to very high levels of bespoke content”.

Based on the company’s VH architecture, the four-seat Lagonda Taraf shares a lot in common with the shorter and less capacious Rapide. The Taraf is powered by a version of the company’s 5.9-litre V12 engine.

We’re waiting to hear back from Aston Martin as to whether the Lagonda Taraf will be available for order in Australia.
