The Korean giant has confirmed that a Hyundai Genesis Coupe modified by Blood Type Racing (BTR) will be featured by the company at this year's SEMA show.
Under the bonnet of the BTR-fettled Genesis Coupe is Hyundaiâs 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Featuring nitrous injectors and strengthened internals, as well as a new high-boost turbo, intercooler, intake, remapped ECU and exhaust system, the four-pot delivers over 597kW (800hp) of power to the rear wheels; that works out to be at least 746kW (1000hp) at the crank.
A six-speed short-throw manual transmission, married to a limited-slip rear differential, upgraded axles, and a new flywheel and clutch, help the driver to decide how much of the Toyo R888 tyres should be painted on the road.
The car's dramatic body kit features a front lip spoiler, a rear diffuser and a high-rise GT-style wing. It also extends the front fenders by 40mm and by 60mm at the rear. The car rides on 19-inch alloy wheels tied to a Stance suspension package, while Wilwood brakes are tasked with slowing the beast down.
To go with the car's racing ambitions, the interior does without rear seats. In their stead will be a roll cage, racing seats up front with shells made from a mixture of carbon fibre and fibreglass, and a set of bolted-on OLED gauges.
