The body of the Mercedes-AMG GT has been teased for the first time in a shadowy profile image and a short video.
Though weâve seen numerous camouflaged prototypes of the German manufacturerâs new-generation sports car, the teaser shot provides the first unhindered look at its production body panels.
The GTâs long, low bonnet dominates its silhouette, while its curved windscreen and tailgate seem to take more than a little inspiration from its intended rival, the $200,000-plus Porsche 911.
Earlier images revealed the new performance coupeâs cabin, which combines the brandâs now-signature circular air vents and tablet-style display with a V8 engine-inspired centre console layout and lashings of red and black leather and brushed metal highlights.
While light on visuals, the teaser video includes healthy doses of tyre squeal, exhaust bark, and rumble from the Mercedes-AMG GTâs expected new twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8.
Bold claims splash across the screen as Mercedes continues to build anticipation for its SLS AMG successor.
âThis is what you get when conquering a twisty road is what matters most, when driving performance is more than just a phrase, when driving performance becomes a reality.
âThis is what you get when a company unleashes its creative and engineering forces to combine the absolute best of all it has done into a single, monumental unwavering engineering achievement
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is tipped to debut at Julyâs German Grand Prix ahead of its anticipated Australian release in early 2015.
