This is the Koenigsegg One:1 â" a car that may well be the fastest ever made.
The Swedish hypercar has been revealed ahead of the Geneva motor show, and it gets its odd name from its one-to-one power-t0-weight ratio: it has 1360PS (or 1000kW) and weighs 1360 kilograms.
The brand claims it could hit 273 miles per hour â" or 439.3km/h â" making it quicker than the Bugatti Veyron SuperSport world record holder, not to mention the official title holder, the Hennessey Venom. There are no official performance figures yet, but the aim for the car was said to be a 0-400km/h sprint in just 20 seconds.
Allowing it to achieve such speed is a mid-mounted 5.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine teamed to a seven-speed tiptronic gearbox with an electronic rear differential sending power to the rear tyres.
The car is about 20 per cent lighter than the Agera on which itâs based, and features active aerodynamics that are said to give it enough road suction to allow it direction changes with up to 2G of force, and that rear wing produces 610kg of downforce.
Helping it stop are carbon-ceramic disc brakes with six-piston calipers all around, which can reportedly reel the One:1 from 400km/h to a standstill in 10 seconds flat.
Inside, the all-carbonfibre One:1 features a pair of slim racing bucket seats trimmed in alcantara. An in-car infotainment and media system also offers a GPS hookup that allows the carâs âPredictive Active Track Modeâ system to operate in real time on the racetrack.
Theoretically, the One:1 will compete with cars such as the McLaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder. However, production is limited to just six units, all of which have already been sold â" four to Chinese buyers.
