Photos of the next-generation BMW X6 M have surfaced ahead of the carâs production commitment later next year.
The all-new BMW X6 is likely to head for production at BMWâs Spartanburg plant in South Carolina (USA) mid next year. The same factory that currently builds the X3 and X5.
The new BMW X6 M will use the new BMW X5âs platform and is likely to maintain the current modelâs 4.4-litre twin-turbo power plant with improvements â" although BMW has not confirmed the power plant for the upcoming M.
The BMW X6 M has been an ultra-niche vehicle that has proven surprisingly popular with owners worldwide. It remains a niche vehicle in our market with BMW selling just 326 X6s in Australia last year with the majority of them not wearing the M badge.
The twin-turbo V8 engine will likely push the current carâs 408kW of power and 680Nm of torque higher, while bringing the 13.9L/100km of fuel usage down.
BMW Australia will take the second-generation X6 when it becomes available for international export late next year.
