Renault Megane: 2014 facelift revealed

The facelifted Renault Megane has been revealed ahead of its debut at tomorrow’s Frankfurt motor show.

Facelifted for the 2014 model year, the updated Renault Megane continues the French manufacturer’s deployment of its new family face following in the footsteps of the Captur, Clio and Koleos.

The new-look front-end styling is intended to ensure greater unity between the Megane hatch (pictured below), wagon and coupe and includes a new front bumper, grille, badge, bonnet, and headlights. Renault says despite the part sharing, each version will still maintain its own distinctive identity.

The cosmetic-only changes carry over to the French marque’s sports models, too, with both the Megane RS and Megane GT receiving the new front end, though, the pair’s new headlights are differentiated from the rest of the range by the addition of gloss-black eyelids.

The updated Megane range is due to go on sale in Europe in the first quarter of 2014, before reaching local showrooms the following quarter.

Starting at $20,990, a revised Renault Megane range launched locally less than two months ago, headlined by the addition of a 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a sporty GT-Line grade, and the arrival of the wagon bodystyle.

Full pricing and specification details for the 2014 Megane will be announced closer to launch.
