Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 Alpine, Vapour special editions for Australia

Two special editions of the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 â€" Alpine and Vapor â€" have been confirmed for Australia, adding extra attitude and exclusivity to the high-performance flagship SUV.

Jeep Australia is bringing 200 of both the Alpine and Vapor special editions, which are priced from $81,900 â€" a $5900 premium over the regular Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8.

Both models sport a gloss black styling enhancement package that spreads across the bonnet and door badges, grille inserts and surrounds, rear step pad and rear light bar.

The SRT badge on the tailgate is also bespoke, featuring a black flag rather than the red one seen on the standard SRT8, while 20-inch black chrome ‘Spider Monkey’ alloy wheels complete the colour theme.

Inside, both variants feature a dual-pane panoramic sunroof and a 19-speaker 825-watt Harmon Kardon audio system.

Differentiating the two is their paint schemes, with the Alpine finished in Bright White and the Vapor splashed with Brilliant Black duco.

The special edition models are otherwise identical to the standard Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, boasting the same brawny 344kW/624Nm 6.4-litre Hemi V8, five-speed automatic transmission and Quadra Trac active on-demand four-wheel-drive system.

Alpine editions are in showrooms now, while Vapor editions will arrive in late January.
