Father’s Day Gift Guide

Here at CarAdvice, Father’s Day is one of our favourite days of the year. For most of us it is a great chance to talk cars (outside of the office) and order extra bacon â€" either for dad, or as dad â€" without being judged.

Being the passionate autophiles we are though, handing out a Bunnings voucher or Chesty Bonds three-pack to dad just doesn’t cut it. So if you are searching for something a bit different for your car-loving father, read on for some great Father’s Day gift ideas.

Does dad’s pride and joy have number plates with specific meaning? Why not get them immortalised as a set of cufflinks? Perfect for Historic or Club registrations, you’d be surprised how impressed your car dad will be with these.

We’ve all seen car books, but what about car book-ends?

A real Ferrari 250 GTO runs more zeros than we can fit on this site, so why not remind dad that he’ll never own a real one with this pair of metal book ends. Apparently they work with those old-fashioned car magazines too… whatever they are.

If there is one thing dad will love to combine with his love of cars, it’s a love of coffee â€" so make sure he enjoys every drop.

A set of Porsche Design espresso cups not only promote the social benefit of golden bean, but with each cup featuring a 1972 Carrera RS 2.7 in a different colourway, you’ll always go back for more.

Every dad was a child and most of us still are. Mention Ferrari and LEGO in the same sentence and any father will go a bit glassy eyed and weak at the knees. All the more reason to bust out this 1,158 piece of plastic awesomeness over eggs benny on Father’s day.

Art is timeless, as are racetracks. Let dad mentally master Eau Rouge as he stares at a laser-cut wooden outline of Spa, or one of many other famous race tracks available from Linear Edge.

Money no object

Lets face it, we’d all buy our dads the world if we could. So, money no object, what would make the most sense?

How about a modern future classic? A final Land Rover Defender or perhaps one of the last true Australian muscle cars â€" a Ford Falcon XR8 or Holden SS-V Redline Ute.

Buy it now, and keep it for future generations to enjoy.

Priceless?

Want to get dad something that wont break the bank at all? Then why not hang out together at one of the great ‘car-guy’ venues â€" like Duttons or Shannons in Melbourne or Classic Throttle Shop in Sydney.

A few hours, a good coffee and a great chat â€" it’s  possibly the best thing you could do for dad, or as dad, this September.

From all of us here at CarAdvice â€" have a happy Father’s Day.
