Smart Fortwo Brabus previewed ahead of Geneva launch

Set for a debut next week at the 2015 Geneva motor show, the Smart Fortwo Brabus performance micro car has been partially revealed in advance by the brand’s parent company Mercedes-Benz.

The Mercedes-Benz PassionBlog, run by the company’s official museum, has given the world a first look at the new-generation Smart Fortwo Brabus.

One of the two teaser images shows the Fortwo Brabus from the rear. Aside from the eye-catching lime green body work, the Brabus model sports twin centrally mounted exhaust tips, green and silver silver side sill extensions, and sporty looking add-on the rear bumper.

The other photo gives us a glimpse of the heated driver’s seat and Brabus-branded sill plate.

According to the museum’s blog, the Fortwo Brabus will likely feature an engine with just over 75kW (100hp) of power to its credit and will have an official fuel consumption rating of 5.2L/100km. Aside from that, the blog doesn’t spill any other beans about the hotted up version of the ForTwo.

At present, the most powerful version of the third-generation, rear-engine Smart Fortwo is the turbocharged 0.9-litre three-cylinder petrol engine model, which cranks out 66kW/135Nm for the rear wheels to handle. This variant can be had with either a five-speed manual or an automated six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
